Dr. Bob's Painting Pages

Whether you are hiring a contractor or doing it yourself, Dr. Bob has some tips that could save you time and money . . . and perhaps make the difference between a job you are happy with, and a job you wish you hadn't begun.

You will find a great deal of information here; all of which is my own best consideration and free.Obviously, I accept no responsibility for if or how you use it.

I began working as a yacht painter in 1962, and was painting foreman at a boatyard on Long Island after completing a four year hitch in the US Navy. Having been offered a full Rockefeller Fellowship at Johns Hopkins, I painted throughout six years of graduate school for Baltimore contractors. Much has changed since I first took brush in hand, but the essentials remain constant.
